TCC’s ChemFlexx DUP is The Chemical Company’s branded offering of DiUndecyl Phthalate, a long-chain phthalate ester used as a primary plasticizer in applications requiring temperature stability. It is one of a group of phthalates that are excellent primary plasticizers.
TCC’s ChemFlexx DUP DiUndecyl Phthalate (DUP) is a non-toxic, colorless, odorless, oily liquid compound that is less dense than water. Its chemical name is 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylicacid, 1,2-diundecyl ester. Its formula is C30H50O4. DUP is insoluble in water. It is part of a group of phthalates referenced as primary plasticizers and is used in a variety of industrial applications, including vinyl-coated fabrics, films, and heat-resistant electrical wires.
DUP is the phthalate ester of undecyl (linear C-11) alcohol. It is an excellent primary plasticizer. Particularly, it has favorable cold temperature and volatility resistance. As a matter of course, the liquid compound undergoes less physical property change after being aged. DUP is used across multiple industrial environments where durability, temperature resistance, and plasticization performance are required.
DUP produces no ill effects at normal temperatures, but may give off irritating vapor at elevated temperatures.
