Crude Oil in 2018

Oil prices have been sitting at their highest levels in over three years so far in 2018, while inventories remain at the lowest levels since August 2015. Crude oil has consistently been above $65/bbl, and broke $70/bbl to start May.

Rail Traffic Takes on Tight Trucking Capacity, Up 6.5%

Railroads are reporting monthly increases in traffic as high as 6.5%, stemming from continued tightness and issues in the trucking market. Spot truck prices are up as much as 30% year-over-year, and many believe this might be considered the “new norm” of the freight industry.
